Angela Lowe joined ASDL in Fall 2009. Her primary research focus is in the field of "More Electric Aircraft". She is originally from South Charleston, West Virginia. She attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering. In her free time, Angela enjoys playing kickball, swimming, and traveling.
Angela received a NASA Graduate Student Research Program Fellowship to study turbo-electric propulsion. The specific focus of the project is on the electrical distribution system. She is also involved in a project studying electric actuation technologies where her specific focus is on the thermal management system. Furthermore, last year she was the project manager of a grand challenge team studying electromechanical actuation for the INVENT program. The specific focus of the project was to create a Simulink model of an EMA and to create a thermal management system for the actuation system.
