Research Interests

  • Large-scale optimization focusing on scheduling, network design, and vehicle routing. Research projects include FedEx Global Operations Planning, Delta Aircraft Maintenance routing, and Business Jet Crew Scheduling.
  • Air traffic management focusing on airport surface traffic control, terminal airspace traffic planning, runway configuration planning, collaborative decision making. Research projects includes NASA “airport surface optimization in the presence of uncertainties”, “Modeling Environmental Factors in Airport Surface and Terminal Operations”, and “Integrated Metroplex Arrival and Departure Coordination Concepts”.
  • Mechanical and aerospace structure analysis, design, and optimization, including helicopter rotor blade, wind turbine, large-scale flexible structure.
  • Conflict detection and system reliability.
