Marc Mugnier joined Georgia Tech and the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory in August 2009 to follow a double-degree formation with the French Aerospace Top Engineering School Supaero. He has been a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) sponsored by Hispano-Suiza SAFRAN group. The graduation is expected in May 2011.
The research in the lab has been focused on a new methodology of certification applicable to the more electric aircraft.
In 2010 he worked on the thermal management and regeneration of Electro Mechanical Actuator with his Grand Challenge team sponsored by the Air Force Research Lab.
Since August 2010 he has been leader of a eight-student team for the design of a coaxial compound helicopter in response to the 28th annual AHS Design competition sponsored by Bell Helicopter and AHS.
