Youngchul Park

Youngchul Park, He was born on April 25th, 1979 in South Korea. He was a researcher in KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute) before joining ASDL. He graduated Korea Aerospace University for Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Mechanical Engineering. He also received Master’s degree in Graduating School in the university. His thesis of master degree is Reliability Based Fatigue Life Estimation and Damage Tolerance Design for Composite Aircraft Structures. He had worked for the Korea Aerospace Industry, Samsung techwin, KARI, and ADD(Agency for Defense Development). His main research was the Fatigue life analysis, Finite Element Analysis and Composite failure estimation.


Research Interests

The research topics is the composite aircraft design especially for structural based. The SIFT(Strain Invariant Failure Theory) is fascinating theory for increasing accuracy of composite static and fatigue analysis. The SIFT is one of the 3-D failure theory based on micro-mechanics failure for composites. SIFT can analyze composite structures easily more than other micro-mechanical failure theories by amplified factor. Thus, the SIFT is micro-mechanical enhancement whereby macro-strain of composite is the amplified.
