Welcome to the Mars Society Georgia Chapter! As the name says, we are the Georgia state chapter of the Mars Society, an international organization of engineers, space scientists and others united for the purpose of furthering the human exploration and settlement of Mars. The Mars Society is working towards that goal by:

bulletEngaging in a broad public and political outreach program to instill the vision of pioneering Mars, and
bulletPerforming ever more aggressive privately-funded research to supplement government Mars exploration programs.

The Mars Society Georgia Chapter supports these objectives by:

bulletProviding speakers on Mars-related topics to audiences in the state of Georgia,
bulletSupporting the Mars Society's national and international research and outreach projects,
bulletCoordinating Mars Exploration-related research and outreach projects of its own, and
bulletOffering a regional networking opportunity for Mars Society members in the Southeast.

Mars Society Georgia Chapter members have participated in  Mars Society flagship projects such as the Flashline Mars Arctic Research Station (2003 mission), the Mars Desert Research Station (Crews 5, 21, 25 and 37), and are working on additional Mars exploration research and outreach projects at the local and national level.
