Become an Individual Sponsor
Individual aircraft sponsorship is the primary means of support for CAF aircraft. Sponsors give a minimum one-time donation to the aircraft that depends on the level they wish to pledge their support. The sponsorship levels and donations are as follows: Flying Sponsor - $10,000, Restoration Sponsor - $5,000, and Supporting Sponsor - $1,000. Flying sponsors who have the appropriate experience may fly the aircraft for currency time, maintenance hops, and airshow appearances. Restoration and Supporting sponsors get priority on flight crew assignments (a moot point with this aircraft as it only has room for the pilot) and on maintenance crew positions. All in all, an active sponsorship at any level means that you have pledged your ongoing support for the restoration and maintenance of the aircraft through continued monetary and / or service donations. You can be a recognized inactive sponsor of an aircraft, but you must be an active sponsor if you wish to continue flying the aircraft. Contact Jake Tryon if you are interested in becoming a sponsor on the Dixie Wing's P-63A.
Become a Corporate Sponsor [Proposal Under Development]
Corporations and other organizations can also sponsor the aircraft for a yearly donation. We are currently accepting any interest on a case-by-case basis, but at some point will have a detailed corporate sponsor package with several suggested levels of donation and associated privileges.
Make a Donation
One-time tax-deductible donations can be made to the Dixie Wing in the name of this restoration project. These donations can be monetary, aircraft parts, or services (such as machining, overhaul, etc.). We are missing several parts and are in need of several services to get this warbird back in the air (see the restoration page for more info). To make a donation, contact Jake Tryon or come down to our hangar on one of our working days (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays) or wing meetings (held montly on every third Saturday at 4:00 PM). The directions to the hangar are available here. Click here for the offical contact information for making a tax-deductible donation to the CAF.
Trade or Sell Parts
Do you have extra P-63 parts from your restoration project, recent purchase, or in your barn? We are willing to buy or trade for these parts if we have the appropriate resources. Check out what we need and what spares we have for the P-63 and contact us if you wish to do business. Bear in mind that we also have some spare AT-6, SBD, C-45, and PT-26 parts that we may be willing to trade as well.
Lend a Hand
Restoring a warbird takes
both time and money, so volunteering your time will help us get this
fighter to fly again. We welcome all ages and skill levels - the
crew restoring this aircraft right now ranges from A&P mechanics
with 50 years of experience to cadets and college students with no
experience on aircraft systems - so all that is required is enthusiasm
and a willingness to learn. Throw on a pair of old jeans and a
t-shirt and come on down to help turn that wrench, buck that rivet, or
press in that bearing! Contact Jake
Tryon or stop by the hangar on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday for
more
information.
