Dr. Weston is the Chief Engineer for the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory (ASDL) and a Senior Research Engineer in School of Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech. He has been a lead for development and implementation of computational disciplinary analyses in ASDL He has over 25 years of experience in the different phases of design, analysis, and testing of various complex systems. His main areas of interest include developing and implementing new methods for systems design and optimization, developing physics-based simulation models, and all areas of theoretical, applied and computational mechanics. As the Chief Engineer for ASDL, Dr. Weston has been responsible for helping guide research initiatives and ensuring the quality of research done in the lab. For the past eleven years, Dr. Weston has been an instructor for the capstone fixed-wing design course for seniors in the School of Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech. Several of the design teams advised by Dr. Weston have placed in national AIAA design competitions. In addition, Dr. Weston has taught the Aerospace Vehicle Performance class numerous times, as well as courses in dynamics and advanced structural analysis.
