Distinguished Regent’s Professor and ASDL Director Dimitri Mavris has been elected to the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics’ (AIAA) Board of Trustees. This appointment reflects Mavris’ distinguished record of academic leadership, innovative research, and sustained service to the aerospace community.

Mavris has been an AIAA member for more than 40 years and has actively participated in committees, conferences, and publications. As a member at large, he will contribute his expertise to support the Board’s governance and oversight functions.

“I am honored to be elected to the AIAA Board of Trustees as an at-large member. I look forward to working with AIAA leaders, members, and staff to continue to grow and evolve the Institute to better serve the aerospace profession,” said Mavris. “As a long-time member who has served on a variety of technical and strategic committees and represented AIAA internationally through participation in the International Council of Aeronautical Sciences, I am excited about the opportunities for collaboration and engagement.”
